Some parts may look daunting at first, but in most cases this simply means that you need to wait for a patrol to reach a certain position before you can continue. If you fail, you will simply be teleported back to Zazzo Twinklefingers and you will have to start over again.
Lord Hiram Creed has 1. He is stunnable and interruptible. Theoretically, he has two phases, but looking at the fight as a single phase encounter is much simpler.
He has the following abilities:. The fight against Lord Hiram Creed is not difficult, and it can be performed as any of the tree Rogue specialisations, although Combat may prove to make the fight easier than Assassination or Subtlety. We will not provide you with a detailed strategy, as this is unnecessary. We will give you a few tips, however:. Overall, as long as you are consistently avoiding the void zones and breath attacks, as well as interrupting Blackhowl's Will , you should have no problem whatsoever.
Enchanting one of your weapons with Enchant Weapon - Mending will provide you with some healing, which will make the quest considerably easier to complete.
He will give you a follow-up quest, The Deed is Done. The Deed is Done is a simple traveling quest. Return to Wrathion at Ravenholdt Manor and he will reward you with the first item level version of the Fangs of the Father, Fear and Vengeance.
Wrathion willl offer you the next quest in the chain, Cluster Clutch. This is a very straightforward collecting quest. It requires you to gather Shadowy Gems. These gems are contained within Elementium Gem Clusters , items that drop from bosses in the Dragon Soul raid, provided that there is someone on this stage of the quest when the boss is defeated.
There is no exact or definitive information regarding the drop rate of the Gem Clusters, but currently, this information seems the most accurate:. Based on this information, it would take roughly 7 full clears for a man raid to complete this quest, and roughly 3 full clears for a man raid. Once you have acquired all Shadow Gems, you must turn the quest in to Wrathion , who will offer you Our Man in Karazhan.
Our Man in Karazhan is a simple traveling quest that has you find Zazzo Twinklefingers outside of Karazhan. In similar fashion to Assassinate Creed , he will offer you a quest to kill a powerful elite mob, Blood of the Betrayer.
The Blood of the Betrayer quest requires you to employ the same sneaking and stealthing techniques previously used in Assassinate Creed , in order to reach and defeat an elite mob called Nalice , in the cellars under Karazhan. Sneaking around is a bit more difficult here than on the previous quest, and you may fail repeatedly.
However, with proper use of Sap and Distract as well as careful observation of mob patrol patterns, it is perfectly doable. Nalice has 3. As with Creed, she is susceptible to interrupts, stuns and pretty much every other ability in your toolbox. We will present to you only those things which are of actual importance during the encounter:.
As with Lord Hiram Creed, you should make use of all the survival abilities you have, and of course deal as much damage as possible to Nalice. After killing Nalice, return to Zazzo Twinklefingers. He will give you the next quest in the chain, Victory in the Depths. Victory in the Depths is another traveling quest.
You must turn it in to Wrathion , inside Ravenholdt Manor, who will reward you with the second item level version of the Fangs of the Father, The Sleeper and The Dreamer. Wrathion will give you the next quest in the chain, Sharpening Your Fangs. Sharpening Your Fangs is yet another straightforward collecting quest. You are required to gather 60 Elementium Gem Clusters. As you know, these drop from bosses within the Dragon Soul raid. Keep in mind that a Rogue currently collecting Elementium Gem Clusters will prevent another Rogue, on an earlier part of the chain Cluster Clutch , from progressing at all.
This appears to be a deliberate choice by Blizzard, meant to keep the number of legendary daggers relatively low. Once you have collected all 60 Clusters, return to Wrathion in order to receive the final quest in the chain: Patricide. Patricide is the final quest in the Fangs of the Father quest-line.
The quest requires you to loot a quest item, Fragment of Deathwing's Jaw from Deathwing, after the Madness of Deathwing encounter. We believe this quest to not be completely developed, yet, on the PTR.
This is because, by comparison, the item that needed to be looted from Ragnaros for the Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest quest chain altered the mechanics of the encounter and presented a challenge, while this does not appear to do so. Obtaining the final version of the weapons also rewards the guild with the Fangs of the Father - Guild Edition guild achievement.
This concludes the Fangs of the Father legendary quest guide. We hope you have enjoyed this walkthrough and, of course, the actual quest chain. The best thing you can do is either pug the raid at normal difficulty, or buy a pickpocket spot. If a raid group is at Hagara, they can invite you to the raid, let you stealth to the boss and pickpocket, then you can drop raid. Arrange with a raiding guild in advance so they can invite you when they get to the 4th boss. They may ask for several thousand gold for this service.
If there is more than one rogue in the group who wants to pickpocket, here is what you do. Stealth to the boss and pickpocket. Then step back and drop stealth and pull the boss. When the boss resets, the pickpocket timer will also be reset, and the next rogue can take a turn. You bring the ring to the ethereals who have set up shop in Stomwind or Orgrimmar.
He also demands 10, gold for this service. When you pay, he does his thing it but it takes twelve hours for the ring to charge. A dragon named Mostrasz will fly you to Ravenholdt. You have to stealth, avoid guards. If you fail you get to try again so its not difficult. The next quest is to solo kill a mob in Gilneas City.
First you have to stealth to him through more guards. Distract and Sap are key. Once you get to him you have to solo kill him, and he has a two minute enrage timer with about 1. That means that you need to maintain around 15k dps while also keeping Recuperate up, as well as being quick on your other abilities.
This is the tough step for the first questline. The only way you can get help is to go with another rogue who is on the same step of the questline. In that case, it becomes fairly easy with multiple stuns and interrupts on the target.
Once he is dead, you return to Ravenholdt and get your reward. This questline earns you the pair of daggers Fear main hand and Vengeance off hand. After that its just a rogue solo, using rogue abilities. Jesus christ Comment by helmates I just spoke to a GM in game after reporting what I thought was a nasty bug with Vanish when used during the sneaky-bit-before-Creed.
I was informed that Vanish is not an ability that we should be using in that part of the quest. Of course, reasons could not be given, because this is a legendary quest and they are not allowed to give away any clues.
I did not ask, but I suspect that Vanish is allowed during the Creed fight itself, if for some reason you need to reset him. Also, for the bit about sneaking into Ravenholdt Manor for the very first time There is another way to get to the end objective that skips a load of guards.
I initially reported this as an exploit, but was advised by the same GM that it is not, and that it is an intended alternate presumably for truly crafty and creative players.
Granted, its harder to pull off, but its by far the fastest route. There was a video of it somewhere, I'll link if I find it. Comment by blackscorpion29 Awsome guide m8, tks a lot for the intel helped me a lot, now moving on to stage 2 :.
Comment by Enzo Thanks a lot for the Nalice video Pathal. It will be very helpful. By the way about the ending cutscene of Patricide, have you seen it? Comment by Kimera Here my fight with Nalice. Comment by Killing Creed is approximately 5 million times easier in Combat than Assassination.
Comment by CAXAPrus Summarizing total cost by gold, time consumption and access requirements: Stage 1 daggers 1 Pick pocketing Hagara 3rd boss in a normal or heroic mode 2 10k gold done. Legendary daggers final stage 4 Getting 60 clusters at least 7. Comment by Kimera Spilers Final cinematic from the quest line. It is about patience and survival. It is about restraining the urge to blow every combo point as soon as you get it, and save them for your important moves in the fight.
This runs slightly contrary to many Rogues' usual way of thinking, but once you make that mental adjustment, the fight becomes much easier. It includes 2 points Deadly Brew keeping Nalice slowed so I can run away as needed , 3 points Deadened Nerves and 2 points Improved Recuperate healing and damage resistance.
I had Instant Poison main hand, Deadly off hand, Deadly on ranged in case I needed to run away and kite her a bit. I also kicked her Arcane Missiles when I could, but they didn't do much damage, so that could be optional.
My health got critically low only once; I handled that by using my damage reduction cooldowns, running away and letting Nalice slowly chase me around while I healed up with Recuperate and a healing pot. Beyond that, I used very few cooldowns at all.
It was actually much easier than it sounded in the above guide; with Quickening, I didn't even have to Sprint. There was an easy path right along the wall to run from the first post to the second. I ran along the walls until it wore off, so that the fire was along the walls and I still had plenty of room to move around. She dropped before the second Blazing debuff, but I had plenty of space left to avoid it if needed. All in all, it was a very in-your-face, yet very restrained fight.
Like I said, it's not about DPS. Hope this helps somebody. Comment by Msamaki I completed the 2nd stage of this yesterday, it's a little easier than the first stage I thought too Couple of comments, on this good guide.
Comment by sildani I'll add something I don't think has been mentioned here. But the poison choice gave me the option to kite her during arcane infusion, freeing me to use Kidney Shot at will or keeping Recuperate rolling. Fantastic fight. I wonder if there is a way to re-do it once it's done for the challenge. Comment by tcoe Just curious i have never done any of this quest. I'm completely ignorant to its workings.
I read a section about sneaking and so on and so forth until you reach a certain person or point. Im curious could you be summoned by a warlock to a certain point and escape all the sneaking? Comment by Enzo Finally finished this yesterday 10m is slow. Thanks again Pathal for this very useful and accurate guide.
Comment by It may have been suggested already, but if you are having trouble, get Enchant Weapon - Mending on one of your weapons. Having some extra healing from Mending as well as a Flask of Winds really helped me finally take him down. I hope that a similar strategy will work on Nalice too.
Comment by bateh "intr U duction"? I LOLd. Comment by OK i am having a hard time getting the first quest in this line done Proving your worth. I guess it cannot be done if u use the LFR. Only the old fashioned way of getting a raid group together. Comment by daleeyy Can anyone tell me how long this will take aproximiately?
Comment by roronoaBH for those of you doing this at At 90 you shouldn't have any issues downing the quest bosses or DS for that matter so really you should only have problems with the stealth part of the quests.
But DS and the other cataclysm raids are cross-realmable doubt that is a word so shouldn't be too hard to get a group together since you only need a couple 90s to clear it in about an hour. Total ETA: hours total gameplay Comment by Felweed As a level 90 rogue, I had no trouble sneaking through to Nalice. I probably could have simply just killed all the NPCs.
Too easy. Comment by SikThlol "Blizzard has broken the mold with these Legendaries and they massively open up the possibilities for what could be in store for future expansions" few years later Comment by Zylix Hello I didnt notice this being answered so i thought id ask How many times do u have to run dragon soul? User Info: Iamvegito. Seems ike it is a quest giver in the raid itself. And thank you for mentioning the bit about having to be in a non-LFR group, I was wondering about that. I've seen michael moses a bunch lately. He's a newblet that shows definite promise. Okay, I see it now. Didn't realize the first quest took place inside the raid.
Thought it was picked up inside then took place outside the raid. Thx for the answers. User Info: ShadowEdgeX. User Info: Ponchercules. WoW player since Vanilla. Still haven't managed to defeat a final raid boss on time because of work.
