Missions are arguably the meat of the game. They're the place where you get to put all the skills you've developed to work. Most are pretty straight forward. However, there are several hunts that are likely to be trouble unless you know exactly how to prepare. Below is a complete guide for all the available missions in the game. This should be a quick one. Try to sneak up behind it for a preemptive strike, cast Libra before finally shifting to Tri-disaster.
Spam lightning and that should do it. This mark is accompanied by 4 Gorgonopsids which can inflict Poison. Just have a paradigm with a Medic at hand and shift when needed.
This one has far greater HP compared to the first two marks. Not that it's a problem though. Ugallu is weak to ice and wind so have your most potent mages Hope and Vanille plus Snow spam ice spells on it until the target staggers. Don't forget to use Libra as well. This could get annoying if you don't deal with the Verdelet quickly as it can summon friends, thereby prolonging the battle. Adroas also use level 3 spells, so cast Shell along with any elemental protection spells you may have on everybody.
Libra is a must too. Using Fog also helps as it prevents the use of magic spells. Edimmu halves damage from physical and magic attacks at least until you stagger it. The Maestro is joined by 4 Munchkins, all of which are brutes. Cast Protect on everybody and start hammering away on the minions. Bravery helps speed things up a lot so by all means use it. Again cast Libra and have your mages spam ice or wind spells on the mark.
It also has a rather low stagger point; Tri-disaster should fill the gauge real quick. My party here is Vanille, Hope, and Lightning but you can replace Vanille with Fang if she already has Deshell since a second Commando is definitely welcome.
Another quick battle here. Start off by killing the minion Flans first then have your Saboteur cast Deshell and Slow on the mark, while the Synergist bestows Protect and Shell on your party. Spam lightning until the mark staggers and dies. I hate Behemoths. Your best bet is to just pop a Deceptisol, stagger the creature and kill it with a pair of Commandos and a Ravager Aggression or a trio of Commandos Cerberus. Nothing too hard. Pop a Deceptisol to score a preemptive strike, stagger, launch mark into the air and spam lightning spells.
I hate these things too and there are six of them this time. All I did really was to bring Hope in and summoned Alexander to kill everything. The mark has , HP and looks intimidating. Have Fang as your Saboteur since she has Slow. This thing is weak to all elements, halves magic and resists physical attacks. Start the battle with Evened Odds until Slow sticks and your party has Protect, then switch to Relentless Assault to build on the chain gauge until the mark staggers.
At this point, fill the gauge about halfway and shift to Aggression, piling up damage. Don't forget to use Libra, and always, always heal with Salvation immediately after Geiseric uses its Dominating Fist attack. The mark is accompanied by 3 Goblins which are once again, mostly brutes. As always, kill off the minions before focusing on the chieftain.
This pair of Sahagin is joined by a pair of Ceratosaurs. Your main concern here is their speed. This entire group attacks so fast. Heal with Doc's Code enhanced Potions at this point. The mark is joined by a whole army of Goblin minions.
As always, Protect should come up first then waste all the cronies with an "attack-all" ability such as Ruinga, etc. Once gone, deal with the mark as you see fit. Stick Slowga on the bunch if you have it. Spam area spells like Thundaga and Ruinga. Take note that you should be able to quickly shift to a healing paradigm when things begin to get even just a tad bit awry.
Spam lightning spells for the kill. Wait until your Synergist bestows Protect, Faith and if possible, Bravery. The Saboteur should stick Bellows with Deprotect and Deshell. Four Uridimmus this time around. Deprotect will help wear the dogs down faster. Spam physical attacks.
Battle over. Shift to Tri-disaster and spam magic spells until the mark falls. Your opponent Gelatitan is weak to Lightning and absorbs Water. Spam lightning spells once target has staggered. Ambling Bellows is accompanied by 2 Cryptos.
This is an upgraded Boxed Phalanx, so leave the Cryptos alone for the moment and attack mark with lightning and water after sticking Deshell. Kill off the remaining targets when the mark has been dealt with. Protect on everyone is a must as well. Sneak up behind the Gurangatch and it'll die faster than you can say hello. This thing has a variety of elemental strengths so use Libra before everything else.
The wasp is accompanied by a pair of Yakshinis, whose attacks are rather painful so once again, Protect is a must. The mark is also capable of inflicting Curse and Poison; have Medics with Esuna ready or have your Synergist cast Veil on everyone. Its invulnerability to physical attacks only lasts as long as the shield is active. Staggering Vetala emoves the barrier and you know what that means.
The weird part is that you need to defeat a Juggernaut just to access the Cie'th stone, and the mark is Obviously if you've gotten this Mission , you can complete it.
Compare Mission Faltering Faith to other Missions. Unique monsters are only encountered during one-time plot encounters; mission monsters appear only during missions; the final bosses make up the last set of encounters in the game; eidolons are special monsters that are not defeated through sheer martial prowess; note that multiple monsters may have the same name, especially in the case of multi-stage bosses.
The monster's strength; a standard physical attack will deal approximately this amount of damage. The monster's magic power; a typical magic attack will deal approximately this amount of damage. A monster's chain resistance indicates how quickly its chain meter fills up; a chain resistance of 70 is normal, and every 30 points modifies the chain bonus per hit by that same amount; thus, the chain meter of a monster with a chain resistance of 40 will increase at double speed compared to 70 , or triple speed with a chain resistance of 10; a chain resistance of negates all chain modifiers, reducing each hit to a minimal change to the chain gauge; when a monster is staggered, its chain resistance is reduced to 0.
